A vivarium (Latin for "place of life") is an enclosed, carefully controlled environment designed for keeping, raising, and observing plants or animals. Unlike a basic cage, a vivarium is scientifically regulated to mimic a species' natural habitat by managing temperature, humidity, lighting, and ventilation.
