ISTA CO2 Tablets are an easy and convenient way to supplement carbon dioxide in smaller or low-tech planted freshwater aquariums without the need for bulky pressurized systems. They dissolve slowly in the water column to supply plants with the essential carbon needed for photosynthesis.

Dosage & Specifications

Standard Dosage: Use 1 tablet per 20 liters (approx. 5.3 US gallons) of aquarium water daily.
CO2 Increase: Each tablet adds roughly 5 mg/L of CO2. (Planted tanks ideally target a total concentration of 5–15 mg/L).
pH Impact: Expect a temporary drop in pH of about 0.2 units per standard dose.
Dissolving Time: It takes approximately 2 hours for a tablet to completely dissolve.
Pack Size: Usually sold in bottles of 100 tablets.
How to Use
1. Drop directly: Place the tablet directly into your aquarium, preferably in an area with good water circulation (near a filter outlet) to distribute the gas evenly.
2. Observe bubbles: You will see micro-bubbles slowly fizzing off the tablet.
3. Dose daily: Because CO2 gas dissipates out of the water surface over time, you must add them daily to maintain consistent levels.
