Platinum butterfly koi

The term "silver butterfly koi" typically refers to the Platinum Ogon Butterfly Koi (or Platinum Butterfly Koi), an ornamental carp famous for its metallic, shimmering silver-white body and long, flowing fins. Another common variety fitting this description is the Ghost Silver Butterfly Koi, which features a more translucent, spectral coloration mixed with metallic highlights.

Key Characteristics

Appearance: Their bodies look like polished silver or liquid metal beneath the water. Because they are a solid, metallic color without patterns, their beauty relies entirely on their unblemished, glowing scales.
The "Butterfly" Effect: They possess long, elegant fins that are often double the size of standard koi fins. When swimming, these fins billow out like angel or butterfly wings.
Size: They are majestic growers, often reaching anywhere from 24 inches (60 cm) to over 3 feet in length depending on pond conditions.
