Hedyotis salzmannii (also known scientifically as Oldenlandia salzmannii) is a delicate, light green aquatic stem plant native to the wetlands and riverbanks of southern South America. Belonging to the Rubiaceae (coffee) family, it is a relatively rare find in the aquarium hobby. It features narrow, egg-shaped leaves and contrasting purple-to-violet stems under proper conditions, making it an excellent contrast plant for midground or background placement in aquascapes.
