Key Aquarium Behavior & Habitat
  • Schooling Habits: Keep them in schools of at least 8 to 10 individuals. A larger school prevents shyness and encourages them to swim confidently in the mid-level of the tank.
  • Peaceful Demeanor: They are exceptionally gentle and safe to house alongside dwarf shrimp, snails, and other peaceful nano fish like rasboras, neon tetras, or pygmy corydoras. Avoid large, aggressive tank mates that might view them as food.
  • Aquascaping Advice: Their brilliant orange coloration stands out beautifully against lush green plants (like Java Fern or Anubias) and floating plants that provide shaded cover.
